The Artist
I have been painting since 1966. I am the son of a seascape artist Ken Landis. For 12 years I was employed as an Illustrator. I have also studied and made sculptures for 30 years. One of my greatest inspirations is Thomas Stiltz, who makes classical wine paintings. I paint in the classical realism style and use the Old World techniques, such as layer build up and glazes. I also wish to bring attention to our local wineries through my paintings and put their labels in a classical still life setting.
I've attended the University of Minnesota's studio arts program and currently attend night classes at the Atelier Studio of Fine Art in Minneapolis.
I plan on retiring soon and working in the studio full time.
